Luzon Invention Festival highlights Filipino ingenuity

Filipino made products that have export potentials are on show at the Luzon Invention Festival October 12-14 at the Department of Science and Technology’s Science Heritage Complex in Bicutan, Taguig, Metro Manila.

The festival’s theme is “Inventors—Source of Export Competitive Products”, and highlights inventions and innovations developed by Luzon-based inventors and inventors-in-the-making, including student creative researchers.

The festival features a number of energy-saving devices that help cut down power cost. Other items on exhibit have practical applications in housing and construction; health, education and entertainment; energy and transportation; information communication technology; food and agriculture; and environment and sanitation.

Winners of the invention contest will later compete with counterparts in the Visayas and Mindanao for the top awards during the 2005 National Inventors’ Week set November 17-21 at the Philippine Trade Training Center along Roxas Blvd. in Pasay City, DOST’s Technology Application and Promotion Institute said.

The festival is open to the public and welcomes prospective adoptors, investors, and companies interested in establishing business linkages with inventor-technopreneurs.  For more detaills, please contact TAPI through Ramon Macam at 837-2071 to 82 local 2150 or Teresita de Vera at local 2166.
